From a press release:
Sirens on the Mountain festival features Rickie Lee Jones, June 20 & 21
Final touches are currently being applied to the second annual Sirens on the Mountain music and arts festival to be presented in Boone, NC, June 20 and 21. Headlined by the storied talent of Grammy Award winner Rickie Lee Jones, this Appalachian summer event celebrating women in the arts also features Soul legend Bettye LaVette and World Beat folksters Rising Appalachia among 17 acts spanning genres from Pop to Bluegrass, Soul to Gypsy, and Folk to Jazz.
Sirens on the Mountain promises something to stimulate and satisfy all musical tastes, but tummies and eyes will also be tempted as promoters repeat their promise to present only the highest quality of culinary delights and artistic offerings from some of the region’s finest food purveyors and craftspeople.
Several changes and improvements have been made at SotM including the addition of Saturday children’s activities and a second music stage. Patrons will also enjoy increased ticketing and camping flexibility as the festival offers both single day and full weekend passes, free tent camping for persons buying two-day tickets (single day buyers can opt to either stay offsite or camp for a minor fee), and an expanded tree-lined tent camping zone.
Sirens on the Mountain is hosted at Boone’s High Country Fairgrounds, a picturesque, wooded event site, offering mountain views, rambling fields, ample parking and lush, grassy camping. Coolers are welcome. Full ticketing, schedule, line-up, parking, camping and hotel information is available at www.sirensonthemountain.com.
