Moffitt endorsed by NC Chamber of Commerce

Press release from the campaign of Rep. Tim Moffitt:

ASHEVILLE, NC — Rep. Tim Moffitt has once again been endorsed for re-election by the North
Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Political Action Committee, further reinforcing his proven record of
job creation, lower taxes and unemployment, economic growth, cutting government red tape, and
common-sense fiscal conservatism.

“These pro-jobs candidates understand the policies that enhance North Carolina’s business climate,
improve our education and talent supply system, develop our infrastructure, and boost entrepreneurship
and innovation,” said Lew Ebert, president and CEO of the NC Chamber. “As a result of pro-growth
policies advanced the last two years, businesses of all sizes that employ millions of North Carolinians
can look to expand, spurring further business investments and job creation. However, there is work still
to be done, and we know that we can count on these leaders to focus on policies that equip North
Carolina to create one million new jobs over the next 15 years.”

The North Carolina Chamber PAC represents the statewide business community and supports state
legislative candidates whose professional backgrounds and voting records demonstrate a commitment
to preserving and enhancing a positive climate for business and job creation in North Carolina. Since
Moffitt has been in office, he has helped bring over 1,000 new jobs to Buncombe County and under his
leadership, the state’s drop in unemployment has been one of the most dramatic in the nation.

“I’m honored by the Chamber’s endorsement,” said Representative Moffitt. “North Carolina’s job
creators have seen the positive results of our prudent fiscal reforms. We inherited a real mess three
years ago: a $2.5 billion structural deficit, government waste and bureaucratic bloat, and an entrenched
culture of corruption that prevailed with one-party rule in Raleigh for so many years. We started the
tough work of getting our state’s books in order and its already yielded positive results: lower taxes to
families in every income category, more jobs, private sector growth, less regulation, and we even fixed
the state’s broken unemployment system. It’s easy to make big promises with other people’s money, but
finally putting our financial house in order allowed us to give our starting teachers substantial raises —
the largest in a generation — and be fiscally responsible in the way we did it.”

Endorsements are made by North Carolina Chamber PAC based on a number of criteria, including : 1)
key votes and positions on issues of importance to the business community, 2) holding positions of
leadership within their chambers and/or caucuses, 3) professional backgrounds and business
experience, and 4) electability.

“Now’s not the time to look backward and return to the failed policies of the past,” said Representative
Moffitt. “We’ve made a great start in the short time I’ve been here. I hope folks will agree the best way
forward is to keep focused and stay the course.”
