New Lexington Glassworks, a premier glassblowing studio and gallery, to open in downtown Asheville
Lexington Glassworks, located in the heart of downtown Asheville on S. Lexington Avenue is the area’s NEW Premier Glassblowing Studio and Gallery. Lexington Glassworks has fully transformed the old Brown’s Automotive building into a 5000 sq. ft. high-end, contemporary glassblowing studio and gallery. Lexington Glassworks will feature live demonstrations, high quality custom lighting, handmade glass, and a future taproom highlighting local beers served in hand-blown glass. Lexington Glassworks will hold a soft opening January 23, 2015.
Owners and glass artists, Billy Guilford and Geoff Koslow are excited to be opening their new business in one the Southeast’s most renowned arts destinations. “We are excited to become apart of the community of artists and business owners in Asheville. We hope Lexington Glassworks will grow to become a highlight in downtown Asheville for locals, tourists, and the glass community.”
Owners Billy and Geoff bring a combined decade of glassblowing experience and arts management to Lexington Glassworks. Both are graduates of the internationally recognized Alfred University and have traveled extensively to studied with some of the best glass artists and technicians in the world. As the former head studio technician at the prestigious Pittsburgh Glass Center, Billy honed his skills in glass studio operations, equipment building and maintenance. Geoff developed his acute sense of design and innovation through his years spent managing a nationally regarded glassblowing studio and gallery. Together Billy and Geoff bring a distinctive set of skills that will assist in the future success of the Lexington Glassworks.
