Blue Ridge Biofuels announced its plan to expand to Catawba County and move its production facility there. The company will keep its headquarters in Asheville. The expansion will allow Blue Ridge to increase its production and expand services to new areas such as Charlotte.
The new facility will be housed in the Catawba County-Appalachian State University Biodiesel Research, Development and Production Facility, which is located at the Catawba County EcoComplex.
Blue Ridge Biofuels also announced that it produced 80,000 gallons of fuel in the first quarter of 2015, bringing the total amount produced by the company to-date to 2.14 million gallons.
