Press release

In its entire 112-year history, Eliada has only had 5 leaders. We are proud to announce that we have hired the 6th leader, Tim Sinatra, as our new President & CEO.

“We chose Tim after a long and careful search. We were impressed by his passion for children, his experience developing non-profits, his enthusiasm for fundraising, and his ability to shape culture for the benefit of staff,” says Board President Charley Smith.

Tim is a native of Florida, graduate of UNC-Asheville, and has a long history of service and leadership to non-profit organizations serving children.

He graduated from UNC-Asheville with Bachelors in Sociology, and then got his Masters in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Since 1993, Tim has worked exclusively at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, beginning with the Boys & Girls Club of Asheville during his time as a student here.

While he was the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Virginia, Tim implemented a successful $10 million capital campaign, increased the donor base by 40%, and managed a regional staff and board, including a 100-member board subcommittee.

More recently, Tim served as the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion, and Polk Counties in Salem, Oregon. While in Oregon, Tim transformed the program service model to include over 11,000 youth in 8 locations. He also opened a new location, established a learning lab at the local community college, and secured multi-million dollar contracts and gifts for the organization. He also served as a member of the State of Oregon Governor’s Youth Development Council and as the President of the Statewide Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs.

Tim says he is coming to Eliada because “I want to be able to make a deeper impact on children – to be able to help the ones who need it most, and Eliada does that. I’m drawn to Eliada because of what they do with children on an individual basis.”

Tim and his wife Christy will be in Asheville either on Nov. 9th or 11th to begin Tim’s leadership tenure at Eliada. Stay tuned for opportunities to meet Tim in the near future!

Please join the whole Eliada family in welcoming Tim!
