Project Linus is sponsoring a Make-A-Blanket Day on March 12, 2016 at Eliada Home in Asheville, 2 Compton Drive. This national non-profit organization donates handmade blankets to children in crisis. The local chapter donates to 12 western North Carolina counties and has distributed over 56,000 blankets.
The March event will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM and is open to the public. It gives everyone the opportunity to learn how to make no-sew fleece blankets, to participate in an assembly line for quilt making, or to join the knit/crochet circle to work on your own project. All fabrics and other supplies will be provided.
Completed blankets and other donations such as yarn, fabric, & gift cards can be dropped off that day at the door. Refreshments will be provided. During the past 16 years our local chapter has distributed over 56,00 hand-made blankets to 12 counties in western NC and there is still a need for additional blankets.
