Asheville Lyric Opera Rings in Spring with “Singing in the Park”
Free Concert Series Returns to Pack Square April 3Asheville, NC – Asheville Lyric Opera is thrilled to celebrate the new season with the return of the free concert series, “Singing in the Park.” The series will kick-off Sunday, April 3 from 2 to 4pm at Pack Square Park in Downtown Asheville. This first concert will feature live performance highlights from the cast of our upcoming production of The Magic Flute.
The Asheville Lyric Opera has decided to roll out a new addition to this series by hosting a themed picnic competition. Each concert will feature a different theme based on the repertoire of the concert and will be announced by ALO. Winners will receive prizes and a feature on the ALO Facebook and website. For this inaugural competition, the theme will be “Mozart” and the Grand Prize will be two FREE tickets to The Magic Flute. The winner will be chosen based on creativity, design, and theme relevance. From food to set-up to decorations, the possibilities are endless.
“Singing in the Park” will continue throughout the spring and summer seasons. Consisting of production highlights, Young Artist performances, and chamber groups, these free concerts are Asheville Lyric Opera’s way of giving back to the Asheville community and allowing the community to become engaged with the Asheville Opera scene. All are invited to experience the timeless music of some of the greatest composers here in the heart of Downtown Asheville.
