DHHS Hosts Child Welfare Listening Sessions
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Social Services is seeking public input at a series of listening sessions on how child welfare services can be improved.

Child Welfare Listening Session (N. Wilkesboro) – Aug. 22, 2018
Child Welfare Listening Session (Sylva) – Sept. 19, 2018While comments will be accepted on any area relevant to child welfare, DHHS is particularly interested in hearing ideas for:
- Improving safety, permanency and well-being outcomes
- Services for high-risk populations (i.e., children aged 0-5, foster youth aged 18-21, LGBTQ population, runaway youth, pregnant foster youth)
- Post-adoption services
Public input is vital to understanding what is working and what can be done differently. Input can also be provided via:
