Press release from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute:

Dedicated to helping people thrive in life’s “second half,” the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNC Asheville is presenting a full calendar of health workshops this fall. These programs, which range from help with Medicare choices and advice on maintaining good vision, to issues like Alzheimer’s disease and the need for end-of-life planning, are all free and open to members of OLLI and non-members alike. All events take place in UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center.

“A great deal of the literature on aging still focuses on decline,” says OLLI Executive Director Catherine Frank. “Here at OLLI, we encourage a practical approach to health for adults as they age that acknowledges that change happens and also celebrates practices that lead to longer, healthier lives. We want everyone to feel welcome and encouraged to participate in these conversations and to see OLLI as part of the infrastructure for successful aging in our community.”
