Local educators and candidates rally at Pack Square in support of public education

Press release from NC Association of Educators:

This year marks a critical time to elect pro-public education candidates in order to stop the dismantling of public schools. There are so many things at stake — school funding to ensure all public school students are successful, student resources, reduction in school positions, educator salaries and benefits and much more. North Carolina is better than being mired in the bottom tier of states in per-pupil spending and average teacher pay. Let’s Remember in November.

Buncombe County Association of Educators along with Asheville City Association of Educators is pleased to announce our 2020 Election Endorsements.  At “An Apple From the Teacher Rally” educators and allies are invited to come by Pack Square to meet some locally endorsed pro-public education candidates.  We will gather for a socially-distanced, masked drop-in event from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the monument in Pack Square.  A list of endorsed candidates is also available at www.ncaevotes2020.org.
