APD obtains warrants accusing man of stealing a truck and trailer

Press release from the Asheville Police Department:

Asheville Police have obtained warrants on a man for stealing a truck and trailer from a local business after attempting to do the same from another business just a few hours prior Sunday.

Jared Dale Robinson (7/15/1982) is wanted on the following charges:

  • Attempted Felony Larceny (Trailer #1)
  • Tampering with a Motor Vehicle
  • Common Law Robbery
  • Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
  • Felony Larceny (Trailer #2)

In the first incident, APD Patrol Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person call around 6:55 a.m. Sunday at the 300 block of Edbar St.  Following a thorough investigation, the officers were able to identify Robinson as the suspect who tampered with vehicles at the business and attempted to steal a trailer.

In the second incident, APD Patrol Officers responded to investigate a theft around 11:00 a.m. at the 90 block of Crayton Road.  As they conducted their investigation, they were able to identify Robinson as the suspect who stole a truck and trailer from that location.  As APD officers continued their investigation into the afternoon, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office assisted and located the stolen truck and trailer at two separate locations in the northeast part of the county.

Robinson is described as 5 feet 9 inches, 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
