Asheville’s own purveyors of hipster hymns, Jen and the Juice have taken their funky indie sound beyond the typical funky indie neighborhood. All the way to … Country Music Television.
The group’s cheekily-titled “Damn Song,” along with a series of interviews, will air on CMT’s Kudzu, Stone Black, Johnny Orr, Swamp Horse Family Band, Tater, Kellin Watson, Marc Whitson, Lindsay Wojcik and Woody Wood. Some of us know what happened … everyone else has to tune in to the show.
Jen and the Juice is Jenny Greer on lead vocals and guitar, Joe Buzzelli on drums and percussion, Clint Weninegar on bass and back-up vocals and Michael J. Libramento playing guitar. Check out their “Damn Song” here: It’s not about cursing, but about contained water … in a pleasantly achy, two-step, melancholy guitar, country music sorta way.
