Minus the Bear specializes in supercharged indie rock with enough noodles to supply a Chinese restaurant. Early on, the band’s sound was characterized by guitarists Dave Knudson and Jake Sinder’s dueling guitar taps, an awe-inspiring style that combines rich melody with the acrobatics of ‘80s hair metal. But over the last decade, the Seattle five-piece has evolved beyond their early work to incorporate shifting, unorthodox rhythms and a heavy dose of synth for a sound that falls somewhere between hard rock, dance, math and electronic.
Tonight, Minus the Bear brings its taps, its synth and its seemlingly-limitless energy to the Orange Peel; the perfect remedy for a cold, rainy Monday.
