5th annual Asheville Barnaroo, Oct. 4-5

From a press release:

5th annual Asheville Barnaroo, Oct. 4-5

Grassroots Youth-inspired music festival perpetuating the support, growth and development of local and regional youth music. BARNAROO is a one day family friendly music festival featuring more than ten local and regional bands.

BARNAROO was founded by 16 year-old Andrew Scotchie and family in 2009 as a private, single day mini-festival, and has continued to grow in size annually. In 2013, Asheville BARNAROO moved to a larger venue at Franny’s Farm, located 10 miles from Asheville. The tent-covered main stage stands at the event center outside location & in BARNAROO tradition, a secondary stage is inside the barn. In the spirit of youth music development, BARNAROO will return a percentage of proceeds to Asheville Music School.

Silent auction proceeds will benefit Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats trip to Hollywood in Nov. so they can play in the entertainment capitol of the country and so they can further their growing fan base. Yes! We have a local band that has made it all the way to Hollywood!

This year’s lineup consist of local heavyweights Lyric, Red Honey, Matt Townsend, David Earl, Leigh Glass, Porch 40, The River Rats, Demon Waffle as well as regional bands from TN & SC. In addition to the incredible music lineup, the festival will feature local and regional crafters, local eats and local brews.

On Sunday the festival will close out with a feature wake-up jam and Yoga by the Pond. This is a family & youth friendly festival and all are encouraged to attend & camp!
