Press release:
OSEGA Gymnastics Will Host The Miles Avery Autism Awareness Classic This Weekend
Swannanoa, NC — This Saturday and Sunday, January 30th & 31st, 2016 , OSEGA Gymnastics will host The 5th Annual Miles Avery Autism Awareness Classic at their facility in Swannanoa, N.C. The gymnastics competition will bring over 250 of the most competitive male gymnasts from throughout the country to compete in a state qualifying USA Gymnastic-sanctioned event.
Owner Miles Avery of Asheville has chosen Autism Awareness as a theme for the competition. Mr. Avery has worked with Autistic children in his gymnastics studio since it first opened in 2010. Every Saturday, OSEGA Gymnastics opens it’s doors to children with Autism and other special needs to train without cost. This is why he believes it is important to draw awareness to Autism through this competition.
Mr. Avery is the owner of OSEGA Gymnastics in Swannanoa. He is a 4 time coach for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, and is a legend at Ohio State University, where he won five Big Ten championships and one NCAA Title as head coach.
He was also the oldest person to make a city final for “The American Ninja Warrior” television show this last Fall.
Mr. Avery and his wife Monica Avery welcome the public to come out to OSEGA Gymnastics this weekend, and watch some of the most talented male gymnasts in the country, while supporting Autism awareness.
