Press release from the Asheville Police Department:
On July 3, the Asheville Police Department (APD) received a report of a sexual assault committed against two juvenile victims by an adult male family member. Detectives assigned to the Buncombe County Family Justice Center (FJC) immediately began an investigation, which included coordinated efforts with our partners at Mission Children’s Hospital.As a result of the investigation, detectives have charged Roberto Carlos Guzman-Serrano, 27, of Asheville, with the following offenses:
- Second Degree Forcible Rape
- First Degree Statutory Rape
- Indecent Liberties with a Minor
The whereabouts of Guzman-Serrano are currently unknown. The APD is seeking the public’s help to locate him and bring him into custody. If anyone has information on his location, they are encouraged to contact the APD at 828-252-1110.
