Created by local musician Andrew Scotchie in 2009 — when he was just 16 years old — Asheville Barnaroo has grown steadily from its beginnings in Scotchie’s mom’s backyard. Now the Weaverville-bred festival boasts a full-grown lineup and benefits nonprofit Asheville Music School.
The 2015 lineup, which was released earlier this week, includes artists like Les Amis, Lyric, Danielle Howle, Laura Blackley, Stolen Hearts, Bare the Traveler, Red Honey, Porch 40, Demon Waffle, The Paper Crowns, Asheville Music School Rock Band, Kick the Robot, Andrew Scotchie and friends, Noah Larssen, Prettier Than Matt and a Sunday showcase of local singer/songwriters.
Barnaroo takes place at 22 Franny’s Farm Road in Leicester on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27. Day passes are $20 per person (children under 12 free) or $35 with camping included.
