Asheville City Schools Foundation hosts legislative update with Senator Van Duyn

The Asheville City Schools Foundation and the Mountain Allies for Public Schools have announced a special legislative update community meeting that will feature North Carolina Senator Terry Van Duyn, according to a press release from the ACS Foundation.

The meeting will be held on Friday, November 6 beginning at 11 a.m. at Hall Fletcher Elementary School in Asheville.

Van Duyn will join Hall Fletcher Principal Dr. Grant to discuss current education-related legislation at the state level and how it may impact Asheville area schools. Topics to be touched on include textbook and materials funding, teacher salaries and testing.

The meeting is free to the public. Attendees are encouraged to red in support of public education in North Carolina.

(ASHEVILLE, NC) – On Friday, November 6th, The Asheville City Schools Foundation and Mountain Allies for Public Schools will be hosting a legislative update with Senator Terry Van Duyn and Hall Fletcher Principal Dr. Grant. The Legislative Update with North Carolina Senator Terry Van Duyn will give community members and stakeholders the opportunity to learn about current education related legislation coming out of Raleigh and how it can impact schools in Asheville.

Parents, community members and the media will learn more about the following topics: textbook and materials funding, teacher salaries, and testing. Attendees are encouraged to wear red; the color adopted as the symbol for support of public education in North Carolina.
