PRESS RELEASE FROM ASHEVILLE COMMUNITY YOGA:
We are still in need of volunteers for our August service project: “Taking It to the Streets, The Yoga of Service.”
Once again we will hit the streets of Asheville to practice compassionate communication with people who live on the streets. We’ll be handing out water, summer supplies, and smiles. Volunteer by donating items from the wish list or plan to meet us downtown on Saturday, Aug. 20th from 10 to noon. Sign up at the front desk or call 255-5575.
We are also still in need of donations of wish list items to hand out:
gently used water bottles (we discourage handing out plastic water bottles – reusable bottles only please)
energy bars
small first aid kits
rain parkas
collapsible umbrellas
flashlights
Friday, August 19th ONLY – apples, peaches, pears
EVERYONE is welcome to join us. All ages, well-behaved dogs, and extended family members are invited to come along and see what Yoga Off the Mat is all about!

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service.
