Asheville Music School bands perform two shows on Aug. 11

The Shows:
Thursday August 11 = busy day for AMS students. Two ensembles at two different locations. Come show your support!

Hi-Wire Brewing- Big Top
Hi-Wire Brewing will have a special release party for their “Side Show Seasonal” BARNAbrew ESB, in support of the BARNAROO Music Festival being held at Franny’s Farm Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

AMS Rock Band performs, with very special guest Andrew Scotchie of Andrew Scotchie & The River Rats! We’re very excited to have him sitting in. Other local Asheville musicians to perform include Pierce Edens and David Earl Tomlinson.

The Hop
The first Helping Others in Honor of Uncle SteveNyou event will include live musical performances by teenage Asheville Music School students Christina Thompson, Abigail Earley, and Nilah Wharton, as well as a presentation by Gabrielle Tee, the school’s program director. The acoustic set will incorporate ukulele, guitars and vocals.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2014, Steve Liebenhaut died on July 2, 2016. At the time of his death, Liebenhaut and The Hop owner Greg Garrison were in the midst of their final collaboration, Helping Others, a project Garrison says, “was and is going to be focused more on programs for kids.”
