ASHEVILLE, NC – October 5
Asheville School of Film is a new, local film school focused on providing affordable part-time and weekend classes in film production for all experience levels. There will be a Weekend Seminar on Location Sound Recording, which will take place October 24th and 25th, from 10 am to 4 pm. The course will teach students the craft of professional audio as it applies to capturing dialogue and sound effects on location. Sid Williams, the course instructor, is a well-known local sound engineer who has worked on numerous national and regional projects, including the well-known Hunger Games movie. Professionals that benefit from such skill include industry and independent filmmakers, videographers, documentarians and commercial producers.
Additionally, Asheville School of Film will begin a Screenwriting course on November 9th, from 6:30- 9:30pm. This class will meet once a week for 8 weeks, and be taught by Rodney Campbell of Charleston, SC. This course is a detailed instruction on the process of screenwriting, and will explore the craft using appropriate writing exercises and guide students through the development of a personal screenplay.
Costs and deadlines for enrollment can be found on either the website (ashevilleschooloffilm.weebly.com) or Facebook page. Students who have completed one course with Asheville School of Film will be eligible for future class discounts of 20%.
