Press release:
The Breast Care Center at Haywood Regional Medical Center is hosting a free educational open house event on Thurs., May 18, from 5 -7 pm at the Outpatient Care Center – 2nd floor on the Haywood Regional Medical Center campus. The event includes tours of the Breast Care Center, meeting the team including physicians, breast cancer education, Moonlight Mammograms (by appointment), a ribbon cutting, massages, refreshments, and local vendors including Pink Regalia, Our Daily Bread and more. Reservations are not required – bring your mother or daughter and learn about the latest guidelines for breast screening and advances in treatment options for breast cancer.
Haywood Breast Center’s program is designed to provide each patient with comprehensive and compassionate care. Beyond having state-of-the-art technology for early detection and the most current treatments available for breast cancer, each patient is viewed as an individual. A multidisciplinary case review, involving medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, surgeons and the patient navigator is conducted for each patient. Patients who are diagnosed with breast cancer will have access to a patient navigator, a specially trained registered nurse who offers educational and emotional support from the time of diagnosis until recovery. Your navigator is there to assist your family as well. Convenient support services include the Cancer Resource Center, support groups, and peer counseling.
Haywood Regional Medical Center is committed to providing the highest quality care possible, along with the expertise and leading edge technology you expect at larger hospitals, all conveniently close to home. We are supported by Duke University Health System’s world-renowned leadership in clinical excellence and quality care and LifePoint Health’s extensive resources, knowledge and experience in operating community hospitals.
