We want to remind you that K-8 students who opted for in-person learning will return to the classroom on an A day/B day Rotation on Monday, September 28.
Again, this does NOT apply to families who have already committed to our remote-only option for the remainder of the semester.
K-8 students in Group A will attend class on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be remote learning days.
K-8 students in Group B will attend class on Thursday and Friday. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be remote learning days.
Classes start at 8 am and each day will be a 1-hour early dismissal.
*Please call your school if you are unsure which group you are in.
Students in grades 9-12 will remain on a remote learning plan.
A few reminders:
-
Face coverings will be required for all students and staff.
-
Please monitor your child’s temperature at home. If they have a fever of 100.4 or more, please do not send them to school. If a student has a temperature when they arrive at school, the student will be sent home. Our schools will use contactless thermometers. The infrared thermometers are not harmful to students or adults. If you have a concern about the thermometers, please reach out to your school nurse.
-
Monitor your child for other symptoms of COVID-19. The symptoms of coronavirus are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. Some people with coronavirus have reported additional symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, sinus pressure, lethargy, loss of taste and/or smell, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you, your child, or anyone in your family experiences these symptoms, please keep your child at home that day and contact your primary care physician. You may also complete the Buncombe County Symptom Checker for further guidance.
