Carolina Sketchfest 3: Asheville’s biggest night of sketch comedy
The first two years of Carolina Sketchfest sold out in advance all 370+ seats of Asheville Community Theatre’s Mainstage. Sketchfest returns Saturday, March 28th at 7:30pm bringing three new sketch comedy groups to the stage with each making their Asheville debut.
These award-winning comedy groups perform best-of, fan-favorite sets in a one-night show. The 2015 groups include:
The Comic Thread – Chicago (comedy capital of the USA) – They’ve been invited to the biggest comedy festivals in the country winning rave reviews and multiple awards including Best Group at the L.A. Comedy Festival.
The Don’t We Boys! – Michigan – Performing in 30+ states a year, this is one of a few comedy groups with a big enough fan-base to tour throughout the year. They were invited to open for actor/producer Bob Odenkirk’s (Better Call Saul, HBO’s Mr. Show) group The Birthday Boys.
Sketchworks – Atlanta – Winners of a 2015 Outstanding Achievement Award at the 3rd Annual Georgia Entertainment Gala that honors entertainment across the entire state. Their current cast and alumni can also be found writing and performing for current network TV shows, film, and professional stage productions.
Sketchfest is hosted by Asheville’s sketch comedy group The Feral Chihuahuas.
