What: Cecil Bothwell releases new book

When: Sat. Feb. 6, 7 p.m.Local author and City Council member Cecil Bothwell will release Usin’ the Juice: an Oratorio, at Malaprop’s Books and Cafe, Sat. Feb. 6, at 7 p.m.
Bothwell’s tenth book is a collection of speeches and sermons delivered in two dozen cities in 12 states and Washington, DC, over the past five years.
The title derives from the old apophthegm concerning lemonade from lemons. In 2009 political opponents attempted to tar Bothwell by labeling him “atheist,” which propelled him to his 15 minutes of fame and invitations to address secular and humanist groups across the country. “They did wonders for my book sales, too,” said Bothwell.
