Comedians Dave Waite and Grant Lyon at the Grey Eagle, June 3

Press release:

On Saturday, June 3rd at 8:00pm, Funny Business at the Grey Eagle presents a special show featuring two nationally touring comedy headliners Dave Waite and Grant Lyon. Waite and Lyon headline comedy clubs all across the United States and are both LA-based roommates.

Dave Waite
Los Angeles-based comedian Dave Waite is a charismatic oddball whose shows are non-stop fun. Thanks in part to his performances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Live at Gotham, and season eight of Last Comic Standing, comedy fans everywhere are enthralled by the Ludlow, KY native’s peculiar outlook on life. In 2012, Dave solidified his reputation as one of the country’s hottest up-and-coming comics by winning the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta and appearing in the New Faces division of the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Dave regularly guests on top morning radio shows, including the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show. Tracks from his Stand Up! Records albums Kaboom! and Hotdoggin’ can be frequently heard on both Sirius/XM Satellite Radio and Pandora. In addition to maintaining a healthy tour schedule, Dave also co-produces The Secret Show, a popular monthly comedy night at The Blind Barber in Culver City, CA.

Grant Lyon
Starting his career in the vibrant San Francisco comedy scene, San Francisco Weekly described Grant as “a hilariously sharp observer, not one of those tired white-guy bellyachers.” A former collegiate soccer player, Grant decided to pursue a career on stage instead of on the field. In 2014, he won the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival beating out comedians from all over the country, and he has performed in a number of other prestigious comedy festivals including the Great American Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and more.

He has appeared on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Radio Show and is heard regularly on Sirius/XM satellite radio. As well as being a contributing writer for the Huffington Post, the short film he wrote and starred in, Interview Date, was eligible for a short film Academy Award in 2013. Funny or Die, MSN, Huffington Post, and others are among the sites that have featured Grant’s sketch videos on their home pages.
