COVID vaccine boosters available at WNC VA HealthCare system

Press release from WNC VA Health Care System:

On March 30, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their guidance on second booster COVID-19 vaccinations:

-Adults ages 50 years and older who are not moderately or severely immunocompromised may choose to receive a second booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least four months after the first booster dose.

-People ages 12 years and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised may choose to receive a second booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least four months after the first booster dose.

-People ages 18 to 49 years who are not moderately or severely immunocompromised and who received Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine as both their primary series dose and booster dose may receive asecond booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least four months after the first Janssen booster dose.

All Veterans, their spouses and caregivers may receive free COVID vaccines! The Pfizer (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccine is currently available at the Charles George VA Medical Center and the Franklin, Hickory and Rutherford Country Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

Charles George VA Medical Center
COVID vaccine clinic located in Building 70, Room 123,
Mondays – Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed on federal holidays).

Franklin, Hickory and Rutherford CBOCs
Franklin: Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hickory: Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rutherford: Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

No appointments are needed! Please remember to bring your CDC Vaccination Card or medication documentation of previous COVID-19 vaccinations.
