Green Energy Park hosts beginning bladesmithing class Aug. 6 and 7

Beginning Bladesmithing Class with Brock Martin from WarFire Forge

Saturday, August 6th and Sunday, August 7th, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
(12 hours total)

Cost $215 (materials included), due at registration

What to Expect:
Participants will begin by making a simple butter knife from mild steel in order to learn the processes involved in shaping a knife. Students will then progress to making a blade from a higher-carbon railroad spike or spring steel. We will cover grain properties, annealing, heat treating of knives, and use differential hardening to temper our blades. No prior experience required.

Students must wear closed toe shoes (preferably leather), long pants, and cotton clothing, and should bring a lunch.

Space is limited to 6 students only, with a minimum requirement of 4. Pre-registration is required.
