Press release from Haywood County Public Library:
As part of Haywood County Public Library’s first ever Library-Con, we will be holding a poster contest for all students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. There will be three categories: K-3rd grade, 4th-7th grade and 8th-12th grade.
Students are challenged to create a library superhero. This hero must somehow relate to books, libraries or librarians.
Posters must be 8 ½” by 11” (construction paper that is 9” by 12” is also acceptable.) Entries can use any medium, but must be hand-drawn – no digitally created artwork will be accepted.
Student’s name, grade and phone number should be listed on the back of the poster.
Deadline to submit posters is Friday, April 22 by 6 p.m. Entries need to be submitted to the Waynesville Library Children’s Department, but can be turned in at the Canton Library if submitted by Thursday, April 21.
Posters will be on display at the Waynesville Library the week prior to Library-Con and during Library-Con, which will be on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Judging will take place at Library-Con and winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
