Henderson County to host online education celebration

Announcement from Henderson County Education Foundation:

Hendersonville, NC – The Henderson County Education Foundation (HCEF) is bringing good news to the community with an online Education Celebration, Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 PM. Each year, HCEF holds an Education Celebration event to honor Henderson County’s Teachers & Principal of the Year and to induct individuals into the Education Hall of Fame. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the event will be held online this year.

The online celebration will be hosted by Summer Stipe, Executive Director of HCEF, and Dr. John Bryant, Associate Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS). The event features the three new inductees of the Education Hall of Fame along with 23 Teachers of the Year and the Principal of the Year. Viewers will enjoy footage from the Flat Rock Playhouses’s Letterland Alive! project, a performance from HCPS orchestra students, highlights of HCEF’s 2019-2020 programming, and a surprise appearance from a local celebrity. While viewing the event is free, viewers can purchase a “ticket” to attend as a donation to the Foundation. Proceeds help support educational excellence in Henderson County Public Schools and allows the Foundation to continue meeting emerging needs that arise during school closure.
