In celebration of seven years of “healthier, happier Western North Carolina residents,” Hot Yoga Asheville is offering a day of free classes on Sunday, March 1, and holding a fundraising event for local nonprofit HelpMate on Friday, March 13.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome new and curious people to our studio,” says owner Adi Westerman about the day of free sessions. “There are so many Asheville residents who have heard of hot yoga and feel intimidated about coming. We created this event to help welcome people and have them see for themselves that hot yoga is for everyone!”

Here is more information about the studio’s upcoming events:

Sunday, March 1: Free classes

Hot Yoga Asheville invites people of all ages and physical ability to visit and practice yoga for free on March 1. Visitors will learn about different styles of yoga, the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga, and will have the opportunity to talk with certified teachers and regular practitioners to learn about their experience with hot yoga. Throughout the day, people will have the opportunity to win free yoga packages, clothing and more.

Hot yoga offers abundant benefits including stress management, injury/pain relief, fitness and more. Since 2008, Hot Yoga Asheville has offered a clean, friendly and welcoming environment to allow health seekers to improve their well-being. More than 11,000 Asheville residents have experienced hot yoga, and the event on March 1st is designed to welcome those who are curious or would like experience hot yoga for themselves.

Friday, March 13: “Glowga” Fundraiser for HelpMate

On March 13th at 6:30 p.m., Hot Yoga Asheville will celebrate its seven-year anniversary with a “Glowga” fundraiser. In the past, Glowga events have supported local causes including Pisgal Legal, Brother Wolf Animal Shelter, Sleep Tight Kids, Open Doors and more. Hot Yoga Asheville has raised thousands of dollars for these local organizations. The event on March 13 will benefit HelpMate.

“Glowga” is a fun and unique variation of a regular hot yoga practice which includes music, glow sticks, black lights, led by teachers with an ample dose of humor.

Hot Yoga Asheville studio owner Adi Westerman said of the event, “What better to share the joy of our anniversary than a fun party that benefits everyone involved! Glowga has always been a popular event and we are so excited that we will have the opportunity to support HelpMate.”

HelpMate is Buncombe County’s primary provider of crisis-level services designed specifically for, and offered exclusively to, victims of domestic violence and their children.

New, returning and regular yogis are welcome to the Glowga event and the party directly afterward. People are encouraged to reserve their spot at the studio’s website at HotYogaAsheville.com.

Attendees will be encouraged to donate whatever they can to practice ($10 suggested donation). All proceeds will benefit HelpMate.
