Illustrated Guide to Great Smoky Mountains National Park talk at UNC-Asheville on Oct. 5

Anderson Design Group of Nashville, Tenn. has partnered with UNC Asheville historian Daniel S. Pierce to create the Illustrated Guide to Great Smoky Mountains National Park coffee table book.

The illustrator and founder of Anderson Design Group, Joel Anderson, along with authors Nathan Anderson and Daniel S. Pierce, are having a free talk at UNC Asheville in the Humanities Lecture Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 5. The Event will include a panel discussion about the book collaboration, how the three decided on the basic outline for the book, their five trips to the park for research, their vision for future National Park projects, and more. Following the talk, there will be an opening reception to showcase the artwork from the book in the Blowers Gallery of the Ramsey Library. The exhibit will be up until the end of November. 40 pieces of art created for the book and poster series will be on exhibit.
