Press release from Interfaith Assistance Ministry:

Laurel Park Shopping Center’s merchants collected over 600 pounds of holiday foods plus cash donations Thursday
to give back to local families in need through its eighth annual Holiday Food drive for Interfaith Assistance Ministry.

Organized by Joseph Laughter of Joseph Laughter Clothier and partner Scott Keels and broadcast live by WTZQ Radio Host and
General Manager Mark Warwick, this jolly food collection has become a holiday tradition with the drive results increasing each year.

Caring Laurel Park residents filled the back of Laughter’s classic white pick-up with turkeys, hams, green beans, stuffing,
soup, tuna, peanut butter and more on Thursday.

“Local families will enjoy eating Christmas dinner or a Hanukah meal at home thanks to the generosity of our supporters in
Laurel Park and the entire community,” said Elizabeth Willson Moss, IAM’s executive director. “We give special thanks to Joseph Laughter for spearheading this drive each year. Please patronize these local merchants when you do your holiday shopping.”

IAM, a 501c3 nonprofit, was founded in 1984 to serve as a clearing house for local faith congregations to assist area residents
in financial crisis with food, clothing, shoes, utility bill and rent assistance. Over the years IAM’s services have increased to include personal hygiene items, prescription assistance, linens, blankets, school supplies, transportation assistance, pet food,
medical cost assistance, food for a week’s worth of three meals a day, a Working Women’s Clothing Closet and more. Please make donations via IAM’s website or mail to P.O Box 2562, Hendersonville, NC, 28792.
