Jolie Holland performs at The Grey Eagle, Aug. 15

Friday, Aug. 15, 9 p.m. with Shy Hunters. $15 advance/$18 day of show.

Iconoclastic singer, writer and performer JOLIE HOLLAND will be in ASHEVILLE, NC on FRIDAY, AUGUST 15 to perform at  THE GREY EAGLE in support of the recent release of her 6th album, Wine Dark Sea. Out as of May 19th, Wine Dark Sea, has received some of the highest praise of Jolie’s career with widespread love for the album’s raw delivery united with her intrinsic timeless song craft.

Jolie Holland is available for interviews and media tickets are available.

Jolie Holland has always embodied everything weird and wonderful in the history of American music, but Wine Dark Sea takes it to a new level. Raw and unrestrained, bristling with kinetic energy, Wine Dark Sea is unlike anything she’s ever recorded, but is also the purest and most assured evocation of Holland’s vision to date. The album features some of New York’s finest experimental musicians combining elements of noise rock, blues, country and free jazz and is sure to provide fans and critics alike with an outstanding, one-of-a-kind live experience.

Wine Dark Sea was self-produced by Holland who mined New York’s fertile downtown jazz and experimental scene for an ensemble of talented musicians including Doug Wieselman (Lou Reed, Antony and the Johnsons), Indigo Street and others.
