Jubilee! Summer Orchestra concert set for Aug. 12

The Jubilee! Summer Orchestra, under the direction of Eric Scheider, will present it 24th annual concert on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Jubilee Church at 46 Wall Street in Asheville North Carolina. This year’s program entitled “Story of theWest,“ features music of Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein in addition to film music from “Dances with Wolves” and “Lord of the Rings.”

The orchestra, founded by saxophonist and conductor Earl Hefley,consists of approximately 50 amateur and professional musicians from throughout western North Carolina. This season marks the 11th anniversary of the current music director Eric Scheider, Asheville based cellist and teacher.

“The JSO has a long tradition of diverse programming. This year is no exception,” says JSO music director Scheider.

Admission is $5. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
