Press release from Junior League of Asheville:
The Junior League of Asheville, Inc. (JLA) is pleased to announce that it will hold its Sixth Annual Volunteer Expo on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Expo Center from Noon to 3 pm. Modeled after a job fair, this free event will feature more than 60 local nonprofits looking to fill ongoing and future volunteer needs. Nonprofits in almost every area of community concern will be present at the event: health, poverty, legal aid, environmental stewardship, women’s issues, arts, civic leadership, technology, education, and animal welfare.
The 2023 event featured over 50 nonprofits and was attended by more than 250 community members who were able to learn more about area nonprofits, and sign up to volunteer.
The 2024 Volunteer Expo is now accepting applications for nonprofits to participate in the event. If you are a nonprofit interested in recruiting new volunteers at the 2024 Volunteer Expo, please complete the Volunteer Expo NFP Application.
Jennifer Hoffman, JLA President, had this to say about the event: “The Volunteer Expo is a signature event for the Junior League of Asheville as well as a way to connect with and support our vibrant and passionate nonprofit community. We are thrilled to see growth each year and we’re so proud of the platform this event provides to nonprofits in Western North Carolina. We hope that everyone attending this event finds an organization that speaks to their skills and interests, and inspires them to give back to our community.”
The Junior League of Asheville organizes the Volunteer Expo for the community to connect with nonprofit organizations and discover new ways to give back and support the hard work of these nonprofits. It also supports the League’s mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
