Mission hospital storm procedure

Press release from Mission Hospital:

Mission Hospital has been preparing for the anticipated storm predicted to hit our region this evening.  Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our patients and staff who must be at the hospital.  If you experience a medical emergency, please call 911.  Do not attempt to drive yourself to the hospital.

For the safety of our patients, staff and visitors, all elective procedures scheduled before 1 p.m. Friday, January 22nd at Mission Hospital, both the Memorial and St. Joseph campuses, have been canceled.

In addition, the Asheville Surgery Center will be closed and all procedures will be moved to the afternoon on the Mission Hospital campus.  Depending on weather, they too may be canceled.

If you have an appointment or procedure scheduled for Friday, January 22nd at one of our physician offices, please call that office if you are unsure whether they are closed.  Our webpage (www.mission-health.org) will be updated regularly with practices that may be closed or opening on a delayed schedule.

Forecasts indicate this could be one of the worst storms in recent years.  Mission Hospital urges all residents and visitors to our region to prepare for the predicted storm. For winter weather tips, please visit (https://www.facebook.com/MissionHealthNC/). This will be updated throughout the weekend.  Please do not leave pets outside and please check on elderly or homebound neighbors.
