Nectar, a recently opened raw, gluten-free and vegan eatery and juice shop, and its neighbor, Veda Studios, will host a grand opening and family-friendly Harvest Party on Saturday, Oct. 24. The event will serve as the official launch for Nectar, which opened in September. Veda Studios opened late last winter.
Nectar has been in the works for more than a year. Its menu, developed by executive chef Tim Boissy, features everything from fresh smoothies, juices and nut milks to raw, vegan breakfast items; raw nachos; build-your-own raw pasta bowls; raw or gluten-free, baked pizzas; superfood bowls; vegan interpretations of classic Southern comfort foods and desserts.
“The focus of The Nectar Lounge is ‘food is medicine.’ We want to create awesome and delicious food that is also healing,” Boissy told Xpress during an August 2014 interview. “We aren’t expecting anyone to follow a complete raw foods diet, but we do want to raise awareness and create more options for someone who wants to go out and have a nutritious meal.”
Veda Studios, a wellness, dance, yoga and martial arts studio, shares the same historic building with Nectar at 853 Merrimon Ave. The Harvest Party and grand opening will offer live music, kids activities and free classes all day starting at 9:30 a.m. Nectar will be open and offering free food samples noon-6 p.m.

Ashevile, NC – Locally owned businesses Nectar & Veda Studios announced a joint Grand Opening & Harvest Party on Saturday October 24th. Both businesses are housed in the same historic building on 853 Merrimon Ave.
This is a family friendly event & is free to all. Including free classes, face painting, puppet shows, free pumpkins to paint & more. Veda Studios will kick off the festivities with free classes all day starting at 9:30am. There will be classes for kids & adults ranging from yoga to kung fu and more.
