From a press release:
Pardee Hospital’s Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Breast Centers. This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best breast centers based on robust criteria that considers female patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
The list of more than 374 award winners, including Pardee Hospital, represents breast centers that have met the high standards of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and carry the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) seal from the American College of Radiology. They have also scored above the national average on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services patient recommendation measures, or their equivalent.
“The Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center team at the Pardee Comprehensive Cancer Center works diligently to provide outstanding, compassionate care to the people we serve,” said James M. Kirby, II, president and CEO of Pardee Hospital. “We are pleased to be recognized as one of America’s Best Breast Centers by the Women’s Choice Award.”
The Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center is part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Pardee and gives women and men access to the most advanced breast diagnostic and treatment services available. The Breast Center offers breast care patient navigation services, 3D mammography, ultrasound and breast MRI. It also provides same-day biopsies and prompt test results to decrease anxiety and provide the best care to patients.
As part of Pardee’s commitment to the most advanced technology for women’s health services, the hospital is now offering 3D mammograms. Multiple clinical studies show 3D mammography is beneficial for all women, regardless of breast type or density. 3D mammography detects 41 percent more invasive breast cancers and reduces false positives by up to 40 percent. This means one simple thing: more accuracy and less anxiety. Most major insurers cover the exam. However, from now through February 2017, if insurance does not cover the exam, Pardee Hospital will take care of the bill.
Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among American women according to the American Cancer Society. One in eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.
“Whether it’s an annual mammogram or addressing a more serious concern, every woman deserves the best breast care and an opportunity to live a healthy life. By letting women know which breast centers in their area are among America’s best, we are able to reduce their risk by helping them make smarter healthcare choices,” says Delia Passi, CEO and founder of the Women’s Choice Award.
