Press release from RiverLink:
RiverLink is proud to announce that registration is now open for its 10th annual Anything That Floats Parade (AFP) to be held August 18 on the French Broad River in Asheville. This legendary event challenges teams of friends, families or co-workers to showcase their creativity by building “anything that floats” and navigating it up the French Broad. Judges will award prizes in categories, including the funniest, greenest and wackiest float.
The Anything that Floats Parade is a featured event of RiverFest to be held at New Belgium Brewery from 12-8 PM on the 18th. This family-friendly event will feature three live bands, food trucks, & craft beer. Festival goers will be able to view the wacky rafts, inflatables and vessels from the New Belgium grounds and greenway below.
This year floats will put in at the Hominy Creek boat ramp and take out at the new Craven street ramp across from New Belgium. RiverLink hosts both RiverFest and The AFP in support of its mission to promote the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad river. Registration and details at riverlink.org/afp.
