Press release from organizers:

Renaissance: A Book & Print Arts Collective Member’s Show

Exhibition Dates: March 3 – April 24, 2015

Opening reception: 6-8 pm, Friday, March 6, 2015.

The Renaissance is a period known for change and innovation; it is also synonymous with rebirth.  Members from Asheville’s Book & Print Arts Collective (BPAC) have created a variety of artist books and prints to explore this theme. The exhibit also features work from two other North Carolina book and print communities; the Book Arts at the Open Press from Chattanooga and Triangle Book Arts from Raleigh. Works will be on display at Asheville BookWorks on 428 ½ Haywood Rd from March 3 thru April 24. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

BPAC is an active community of local artists that practice, celebrate, and promote the book and print arts.  The Collective encourages the artistic growth of its members and the advancement of their craft. BPAC is an independent, self-governing, and self-administering group. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend a meeting to learn more.  BPAC meets bi-monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm, at Asheville BookWorks.

Asheville BookWorks is a community resource for print and book arts located in West Asheville, North Carolina. Through classes, exhibits, lectures, and annual events, Asheville BookWorks has developed a national reputation as a fine book arts and print facility. BookWorks is pleased to provide space, equipment and technical support for individuals with an interest in handmade books, printmaking, and letterpress.
