Press release from Mills River Presbyterian Church:
MILLS RIVER, N.C. – If you have cabin fever after the recent snowstorm, Mills River Presbyterian Church has the solution. The Seventh Annual Puzzlefest has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2016 through Sunday, February 6, 2016.
Area puzzlers will delight in the many opportunities to participate. The church will have an area set up to work on a 4,000-piece puzzle of a famous German castle, a variety of 1,000-piece puzzles along with a special children’s area of puzzles. As a bonus, there will be a large selection of free puzzles available for people to take home and enjoy.
“Everyone’s invited to come help us put the pieces together,” says Randall Boggs, pastor of Mills River Presbyterian Church. “For our ‘lucky seven’ year of puzzle fun we’re offering free take-home puzzles for people along with the ability to come and help us put together a variety of puzzles for seven days! This annual event is a great opportunity for people to get out of their homes and socialize with others while chasing away the winter blahs.”
People of all ages are invited to come to the free puzzle kickoff and bring a bag lunch on Sunday, January 31st that will run from noon to 6pm. Weekdays (Feb. 1-5) Puzzlefest will be open from noon to 8pm. On weekends, Jan 31, Feb. 6 and 7, Puzzlefest will be open noon to 6pm.
Participants can pick one puzzle to work on from start-to-finish or table-hop and work on several different puzzles. The church will be open each day — for seven days — through February 6th for people to complete the puzzles.
“Each year we have die-hard puzzle fans working on puzzles for hours at a time,” says Boggs. “People stop by to see what’s going on and they end up staying four or five hours. It’s addictive … and a fun way to meet new people!”
