Start From Seed doula program will host a pancake brunch fundraiser on Mother’s Day at the Grey Eagle Tavern. From the evnt site:
“Start from Seed is a 501(c)3 volunteer doula program aimed at providing non-medical, comprehensive support to low income, high risk women and families of Buncombe County and equally focuses on three other areas: doula certification and training, doula mentoring and community building. The Program is intended and designed for growing clients’ inner strength and helping them gain empowerment to help them cope with the emotional, physical and mental challenges of childbirth, labor and motherhood.
We have established five amazing community partnerships in Buncombe County that referrals women to our program. SFS is receiving new clients consistently and with every new client comes new materials or supplies that these women and our volunteers need. We are asking for the communities support for SFS but ultimately for the new mothers of Buncombe County.
Please join us in celebrating all the mothers and doulas of Buncombe County over a plate of short stacks and good company — cost is $10 per person and that includes your pancakes and a beverage.”
