From the office of Terry Van Duyn:
Asheville, N.C. – State Senator Terry Van Duyn (Dem-Buncombe) filed for re-election for NC Senate District 49 today. She is running for her second full term, having been appointed in 2013 to fill the term of the late Sen. Martin Nesbitt. In addition, she was elected Senate Minority Whip last November.
“It was truly an honor to serve the people of Buncombe County and I hope that I can continue working on commonsense solutions to the problems facing North Carolina. To me, that means investing in our classrooms, protecting our clean water and clean air, and creating an environment where businesses can thrive,” Sen. Van Duyn said.
Senator Van Duyn serves on the Appropriations on Health and Human Services, Finance, Health Care, Judiciary II, State and Local Government, and Ways and Means Committees. She is also co-chair of the Joint Legislative Emergency Management Oversight Committee.
