After five weeks of voting, readers of travel and culture website Strange Carolinas have named The Orange Peel the Best Venue For Live Music in North Carolina as part of the Strange Carolinas Best Of NC Awards, a look at the best in music, art, food, shopping, and the strange destinations of North Carolina.
For two weeks, readers of Strange Carolinas were invited to nominate their favorite music venues. The 10 venues that received the most nominations were Greensboro’s Blind Tiger, Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle, The Fillmore Charlotte, Asheville’s The Grey Eagle, Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre, Chapel Hill’s Local 506, Durham’s Motorco Music Hall, Charlotte’s Neighborhood Theatre, The Orange Peel, and Ritz Raleigh. Voting was then open for nineteen days to crown the Best Venue For Live Music in NC from the top ten nominations.
