David Bowie and his legendary music need no introduction…

Wham Bam Bowie Band presents a show carefully chosen from dozens of Bowie’s top charting hits and classic albums, as well as rarities, deep tracks and fan favorites.

The band is on a mission to faithfully present Bowie’s classics onstage, all of it music that continues to influence diverse generations of fans.

Lead singer Mark Casson became a Bowie fan with countless other young Brits when Bowie and The Spiders From Mars appeared on Top Of The Pops. The legendary performance of Starman inspired Mark. “We all knew this was something very, very different” he says, recalling the live TV broadcast in his native England.

Jump ahead 30 years, and Mark is a songwriter living in Nashville, releasing albums of British Invasion/Beatles/Bowie influenced power pop in The Cheeksters, his critically-acclaimed band with his wife Shannon. When Mark did a one-off Bowie tribute show in Nashville club; it was not only great fun but a massive success, with fans immediately requesting a repeat performance.

Mark kept the idea alive to one day perform Bowie music again, and years after moving to Asheville he has assembled a local band to fulfill it. Singer/composer Aaron Price is on keys. Andre Cholmondeley of Project/Object, the alumni-based Zappa tribute, is on guitar. Bassist Brett Spivey and Jim Neu, drummer in a Netherlands based Who tribute, round out the lineup.

The WBBB live show features the expected blockbuster 80s hits, as well as classics and fan faves from Space Oddity on thru the Hunky Dory, Alladin Sane, and Heroes periods, and even occasionally brand new material from Bowie’s 2013 release The Next Day.

However, the highlight of the evening for many fans is a COMPLETE PERFORMANCE of Bowie’s breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars.

Wham Bam Bowie Band brings Bowie’s iconic music to life, bringing it onstage once again. Unlike many artists that are paid tribute to, Bowie is of course still very much an active and creative force. In 2013 his critically acclaimed and international #1 album The Next Day reminded fans new and old that he is still one to watch and listen for in the 21st century. As January 2016 rolls around, his new release Blackstar is slated for release on his birthday, continuing his prolific run.

Wham Bam Bowie Band is as excited as you are about keeping Bowie’s music in performance live onstage, where it belongs.
