From the press release from The Health Adventure:
Asheville, N.C. (April 30, 2012) – The Health Adventure is hosting an out-of- this-world Space Carnival on Saturday, May 5th, from 1-3 pm. The festivities will include far-out carnival games, a Mars rover robotics workshop, Science on a Sphere® demonstrations, rocket launches, participation in the construction of an “International Space Station,” and great prizes! Space Carnival at The Health Adventure is an excellent opportunity to learn about the wonders of outer space, while having a blast at a carnival. Space Carnival is free with membership or museum admission. Admission is $9.50 for adults and $6.50 for children ages 2 through 16.
On exhibit now until the end of June is Science on a Sphere® on loan from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Science on a Sphere® is a room-sized, global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display planetary data onto a six-foot diameter sphere, similar to a giant animated globe. Researchers at NOAA developed Science On a Sphere® as an educational tool to help illustrate Earth System science to people of all ages. Animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change, ocean temperature, as well as each of our planets and the sun can be shown on the sphere. Asheville Regional Airport is proudly sponsoring Science on a Sphere®.
