Acclaimed ukelele master Kimo Hussey will come to Asheville on Friday, November 6, for a special workshop on the intricacies of the ukelele, according to an announcement by Tryon-based Lichty Guitars. The workshop will be hosted by the Asheville Ukelele Strummers at the Montford Recreation Center from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Asheville will be Hussey’s first stop on his Uke Carolinas! tour, with subsequent stops in Greenville, S.C., the Tryon Fine Arts Center and later in Charlotte. The Hawaiian native will share his unique playing techniques with attendees and offer advice on proper care of the instrument and how to develop a unique playing style and instrumental voice, according to the event post on lichtyguitars.com.
The Asheville workshop is limited to 30 people. Tickets are are $30 each, plus processing fees, nd can be purchased online.
