UPDATE: Truck driver makes several attempts to run over a man on the side of the road

Press release from the Asheville Police Department:

Scott Everett Ford has been charged and arrested as a result of the ongoing investigation into a driver attempting to run over an Asheville man and his cat on May 17.

Ford was taken to jail and released on a $20,000 secured bond.

Accessory after the fact to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
Felonious obstruction of justice
Accessory after the fact to felony cruelty to animals

The investigation into the identity of the driver of the truck is ongoing. Detectives need your help. If you would like to anonymously share information you can text TIP2APD to 847411, or use the TIP2APD smartphone app. You can also share information by calling 828-252-1110.

    Damm…I have some experience with large metal objects coming toward me, in both directions while on my bike !!! I can let you know there have been some terrifying instances while “Sharing The Road” !!

    So while this fella thinks it is a game or a personal right to steer towards and / or track a pedestrian…ANY pedestrian is just insane !! I am sure there are two sides to any story and clearly only one side has been exposed…so where is the other side of the story ? Most stupid things are done in the dark, I am assuming to limit exposure, this incident was done in daylight out in the open… the person driving the truck has lost their mind and with it all rights and reasons to be out among the public !!! Mr Ford knows or has the means to identify who was at the wheel during this incident however he has decided to withhold the identity…it appears he is wining the game. Is this really taking place ?
