Workshop “Advanced Business Skills for Artists” launches March 7

PRESS RELEASE:

A new workshop series developed for craft entrepreneurs will launch on Monday, March 7. Advanced Business Skills for Artists has been developed based on feedback from local artists/creative business owners seeking assistance in growing their business. The five-week series will be comprised of six seminars focusing on operations, finance, marketing, and sales. Deliverables will include information on production space design, production efficiencies, merchandising, product line development, inventory control, bookkeeping, gaining financial health, selling, branding, and pricing.

The workshop will be offered at a discounted rate of $250. Participants will also have the option of taking each seminar independently at a cost of $50 each. “Program content will have a practical component that will resonate with those who thrive from a hands on approach to learning,” said Duane Adams, Associate Director at the A-B Tech Small Business Center.

“Those who are doing business within the creative sector need an opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals who are traveling the same path. This program aims to provide an environment where participants can learn from an extremely capable facilitator and each other. This type of collaboration is critical once a business reaches a certain level. I’m excited about the energy that each session will bring.”

The program’s development has been made possible through a collaborative effort including the A-B Tech Small Business Center, Asheville SCORE, the Support Center, NC Industry Expansion Solutions, and local artists. All seminars will be held at the Hive/the Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design in downtown Asheville.
